Poems I either write or see on the internet.

Distance Between Us (Nonet) By: andres

This is my latest poem. It is dedicated to a very special person for me.

Distance Between Us

I can only give you words right now,
my love. The distance between us
is great, but what I feel for
you is even greater.
When we meet again,
I shall make up
the lost time
with great
love.

Suzie's Sanctuary By: andres

The creative writing professor sent us this link. It's a site where Suzie explains several types of poetry. There are several that have taken my attention.

Sigh, I need for more time to write anything.

Rhyming Dictionary By: andres

Also, if you need to make rhymes and you don't have any idea what rhymes with that word, give the Rhyming Zone rhyming dictionary a try. A superb resource for anyone writing poetry.

The Devil By: andres

Well, this is a poem I would have like to give the professor instead of the one I handed (Just a Game, to be published here in a while). As soon as I get the type of this poem, I'll post it. Enjoy!

The Devil

I know a lot
'cuz I'm old, 'cuz
bad don't help much.

Edit: The poem is a Than-Bauk. The style is of Burmese origin.

Future, revisited (Nonet) By: andres

My last update for today. Yet another poem here.

Future, revisited

"Can I alter my future?" I ask
myself. I could not change the
outcome of my love quests no
matter what I did. Then
it changed without
my influence.
Whatever
it was,
thanks!

On Time (Tetractys) By: andres

This one is mainly for me. I need to complete all the work I'm behind.

On Time

Work
on time,
otherwise
you will be in
the bottomless crater of pending work.

Computers (Diamonte) By: andres

Another poem I wrote for the creative writing class.

The Diamonte style uses two nouns, usually oposites as the first and last verse. If you see mine, it uses the same noun. But my point is how the same noun (hacker) is portraiyed by the media and how many of them really are. Contradictory, ain't it?

Computers

Hacker
irresponsible, young
cracking, breaking, stealing
threat, jail, security, sagacity
learning, building, sharing
mature, skilled
Hacker

My question (Senryu poem) By: andres

This is a poem I wrote for the creative writing class. It is in Senryu style.

My question

Is the future set
or can it be altered?
I no longer care.
